.NET Framework 4 Beta 2 Migration Issues List Available
At over seven months since it provided the first compatibility info resource for the next iteration of the .Net Framework, Microsoft is making available for download a list featuring known migration issues in the Beta 2 development milestone of the technology. Compatibility information related to .NET Framework 4 is essential to developers leveraging the Beta 2 Build which need to test their applications in order to ensure that they will continue to work properly.
Just to be clear, the promise from Microsoft is that .NET Framework 4 was built to deliver full backward compatibility with previous versions of the .NET Framework. But while this is the general rule, there are inherent exceptions which developers should be aware of. According to the Redmond company, the vast majority of applications and components built by leveraging previous versions will also run on .NET Framework 4 with no issues. For those that won’t, Microsoft is offering the .NET Framework 4 Beta 2 migration issues list.
