In response to Kristof’s post suggesting that Bing search engine filters results for searches conducted outside of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) using Simplified Chinese characters for their query, Microsoft said it’s “committed to comprehensive results” and did fix a bug in web search that addressed this issue. There’re “some queries that provide very balanced web results,” such as a search in Simplified Chinese for “June 4th Tiananmen.” In addition, investigations uncovered the fact that our image search isn’t functioning properly for queries entered using Simplified Chinese characters outside of the PRC. We’ve identified the bug and are at work on the fix. We expect to have this done before the Thanksgiving holiday,” Adam Sohn of Bing said.

1. Restart your computer. As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, tap "F8" key constantly. Use the arrow keys to highlight the "Safe Mode with Networking" option and then press ENTER.

Open Internet Explorer >> Click on Tools >> Click on Internet Options >> In the the Internet Options window click on the Connections tab >> Then click on the LAN settings button >> Now you will see Local Area Network (LAN) settings window >> Uncheck the checkbox labeled "Use a proxy server for your LAN" under the Proxy Server section and press OK.

3. Download and Run SmitfraudFix

# Run SmitfraudFix.exe and select the option 2 and follow the on screen instructions. Then select the option 5 and continue. Then Exit.
